About Us

Pastor Sam Houston is the founder of God's House of Worship and the official pastor of the church for the lifetime of the church (19 years)! Pastor Sam is the creative mind behind our soundboard and light shows! He is diligent and hard-working, and we are beyond thankful that he is our pastor. He has a servant's heart and believes that the gospel should be shared with all people. Pastor Sam preaches the word of God without adding to or subtracting from it. He proclaims victory over the enemy and life to the fullest through Jesus Christ!

Tonya Houston is the wife of our pastor and also played a huge role in the founding of GHOW. She is our official treasurer and event planner. She is the mind behind fundraisers, outside events, and even prepares food for REVIVE YTH services every Sunday night (and those teenagers definitely appreciate that)!

"God has blessed me beyond measure. He saved me from my sin and created a new me. I was lost and miserable in a broken life of my own making. I was suicidal and just a miserable person. He brought me out and blessed me with a beautiful family that the doctors said I would never have. He saved my husband and made him new and even called him to the ministry!! He blessed me with two beautiful children after 7 miscarriages and being told by the medical community that children weren't even an option for me. They are miracles that I see in my life every day. He saved them and called them to ministry and I see Him using them in a mighty way. Those are just a few of the amazing things God has done in my life and there are many yet to come. I can't even imagine where I would be without Jesus and I want everyone to know Him and the love and joy He can bring to their life. All I can say is, 'Let me tell you about my Jesus!'"

Joy Adams is the wife of Thomas Adams. She is our live manager, Bible study teacher, evangelist, and the artist behind our beautiful event art backdrops. Mrs. Joy has been under GHOW ministries for the lifetime of the church (how awesome is that)! She is also a former worship leader here at GHOW.

"I can remember all my life wanting to belong to something bigger than myself. I grew up as the youngest of 3 kids and the one with the lowest self-esteem. I suffered from depression with suicidal tendencies. I never felt good enough. As a teen I got saved and attended church for a few years, however, I fell back into the world and all of its issues. As an adult I went through 2 failed marriages and I had a child with a man I didn't marry. My child became my world! I was so thankful for him. However, I still dealt with depression. After my mom had a heart attack and having to have a heart transplant, my dad died a year later. My mom depended on me to help her and the burden was almost unbearable. Then God placed Sam and Tonya in my path and invited me to chuch. It was just what I needed. After about a month I gave my life back to God and a year later God sent Thomas Adams into my life. We married 2 months later and then God called me into the ministry. When Sam and Tonya moved on to pastor their first church, God moved my husband and I with them. After a while they founded God's House of Worship and Outreach Ministries for which I have been a proud member for 19 years. I have found where I belong and know the plan God has for me and my huband. That plan is for me to preach and teach God's Word. It is an honor to serve God in the ministry of God's House of Worship.

'How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, "How beautiful are the feel of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!' -Romans 10:14-15 KJV"

Thomas Adams is the husband of Joy Adams. He is a worship leader, ordained youth pastor, and helps build props for events. Mr. Thomas has also been a part of GHOW from the beginning. He brings a laugh and a smile wherever he goes, and is an impactful part of the outreach of our church!

Christian Houston is the son of Pastor Sam and Tonya Houston. He is a worship leader and is on our tech team. Christian helps in every way possible, from showing up early to help prepare to taking care of grounds. He is also a leader of REVIVE YTH every Sunday night, and is a huge role model to teenagers in the area!

Faith Houston is the daughter of Pastor Sam and Tonya Houston. She is also a worship leader, on our tech team, and is the GHOW social media coordinator. Faith also edits and uploads our YouTube videos. She is the mind behind the Livestream overlays, videos, and graphics. Faith is also a leader and founder of REVIVE YTH every Sunday night, and offers a smiling face and helping hand to her peers.

"God has been so good to me, even when I wasn't always good to Him. He offered life to the fullest when I felt empty, and held my hand through the hardest moments of my life. I love to think about it like this; 'He willingly stepped into my darkest moment so that I, so deep in it, could walk out of it and be free.' I feel like that perfectly portrays how good God has been to me, because even when I was in a million pieces on the floor and unaware of how to get back up, God stepped in and saved me from that. So if you're here, reading this right now, wondering if life is worth it, just know that God will willingly step into your darkness and hold your hand to get you out. Ask Him.
